LET'S GET STARTED!
THINK AND UNDERSTAND
Time is an important concept of life.
Telling and writing time is an
important skill that you should
have. But before you can do that,
let us study first some important
concepts of time.
THINK AND UNDERSTAND
Minutes and hours are units used to
measure the passing of time. Each
small division around the edge of
the clock show one minute.

60 seconds (sec) = 1 minute

60 minutes (min) = 1 hour (hr)
24hrs (hrs) = 1 day
We use a.m. for morning this starts from 12:00 a.m. until 11:59 a.m.
We use p.m. for the afternoon until late in the evening, 12:01 p.m. until
11:59 p.m. We use a clock to tell time. There are
two kinds of clocks:

DIGITAL CLOCK ANALOG CLOCK

Base on the problem in Get Ready, this clock shows 3:00 o’clock.

The long hand or the minute hand of the clock

moves around the clock 60 times in 1 hour.

The short hand or the hour hand the clock has

moved past 2 and towards the 3. We can use
skip by counting by 5s to “read” the clock. This
is 5 minutes interval.
In a digital clock, this is what 9 o’clock looks
like. We can also say: “3 quarter“ for 3:15
“quarter to 3‘ for 2:45
“half past 3” for 3:30

All of us must be aware that we must spend

our time wisely. We cannot save time in our
piggy bank like we save money. Give enough
time for every activity you do.
What time is it?
Write the time that each clock shows.
