WARM UP “THE TIME”
WHAT TIME IS IT?

It’s three o’clock. It’s one o’clock. It’s twenty-five past six. It’s five past ten.

It’s half past one. It’s quarter past two. It’s quarter to eight. It’s half past four.
What Time is it?

In this lesson you will learn how to tell what time it is when
you look at a clock.
Time to learn the “whole hour”
An hour has 60 minutes.
The whole hour is called o’clock.

1:00 5:00
It’s one o’clock. It’s five o’clock.
Time to learn the “quarter past”
An hour has 60 minutes.
Quarter of an hour is 15 minutes into the hour.

It’s quarter past two.
It’s quarter past seven.
Time to learn the “half hour”

An hour has 60 minutes.


Half an hour is 30 minutes into the hour.

It’s half past ten. It’s half past five.
Time to learn the “quarter to”

An hour has 60 minutes.


Quarter to is 45 minutes into the hour.

It’s quarter to five. It’s quarter to eight.

TIMES OF THE DAY

Morning hours mean A.M. Afternoon and night mean P.M.

Noon is 12:00 P.M. or lunch time. Midnight means 12:00 A.M.
