Arrest Made in Friday’s Bank Robbery

Mustafa Khalil Naeem, 54, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland has been arrested for the September 25th
armed robbery of the Virginia Partners Bank at 2101 Plank Road. During the robbery, a masked
man carrying a handgun entered the bank and jumped over the teller counter. The suspect stole a
quantity of cash from the teller and left the bank on foot, still with the gun in his hand. Two
witnesses outside the bank saw the suspect get into a vehicle located behind Schultz Chiropractic
office. One of the witnesses was able to obtain a partial license plate number for the getaway
vehicle, and that information subsequently led to the identification of the suspect.

With assistance from the Prince George’s County Police Department and the Federal Bureau of
Investigation, search warrants were executed on September 26 at two residences and on the
suspect’s vehicle. On Saturday afternoon, Naeem was arrested without incident in his vehicle after
leaving the home of his girlfriend. Naeem is charged with one count of armed robbery of a bank
and is currently incarcerated in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
