These are the bonds between Carbon atoms on the left, and then Silicon and Oxygen on the right. Due to their ability to form bonds in all directions, their resulting product is quite strong.
This is an example of the use of Silicon Dioxide in Carbon fibers to create a stronger, yet lighter product.
