Q3.What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

IPC Media
There are a lot of different media institutions that can sell my media product such as IPC Media which I first considered to be the institution in which would sell my new magazine. The reason for this is because IPC Media is one of the United Kingdom's leading consumer magazine and digital publishers, with a large portfolio selling over 350 million copies each year.

However, seeming that this institution already sells a magazine that is of a music sector therefore I chose not to use it.

EMAP
This is another media institution which I also came across and considered it for my media product. This institution was the second largest magazine publisher in UK nearly about 18% of the standard market by revenue next to IPC Media which was about 20% . However, in July 2007, the company was split up and sold off in December this is why it didnt really like it. The types of magazines that this media institution sells is more of the occupations and gossip magazines.

MY CHOSEN MEDIA INSTITUTION COMPANY

There are more media institutions in which I looked at but the one that was more appealing to me was Cond Nast

My Hip Hop magazine will be sold at most supermarkets such as Tesco, Sainsbury and so on as well as news agents and other places like WHSmiths . Also because there is a website called revoltnation.com people can get the online magazine if they wish to.

REASON FOR THIS COMPANY

This can also benefit both the company and my magazine financial

I have chosen this company to be the official publisher for the Revolt because there isnt a Hip Hop magazine being sold by this company.

My magazine can enable Cond Nasts target audience to expand such as 16 year olds to 55 of both women and men.

I will distribute my magazine in shops so that my product can be able to compete with other magazines of the same genre.

My magazine will be positioned at the eye level on the shelves so that the people buying can see the magazine first and also it will be place near my competitors in shops such as The Works, WHSmith and many more.
