Introduction To Kill a Mockingbird

End of book Essay (Quiz grade) Great Gatsby. Choose one of the themes from The Great Gatsby and then trace one of the symbols Fitzgerald uses to develop the theme. Your essay should be approximately 2 pages. Due Wednesday, Mar. 5. FDR and the New Deal (HANDOUT) 495-509. From your reading, answer the following:

In 2-3 sentences, assess the character and appeal of FDR. Begin Stock Market Game Give 2 examples of New Deal legislation for each category: Relief, Recovery, Reform. Great Depression and the New Summarize the criticism made of the New Deal Deal by the left and the right. New Deal efforts to deal with unemployment and TKAM: Read chapter 1. Response cards: For each welfare. reading assignment, write a question, idea or thought New Deal approaches to the problems of recovery in industry and agriculture.

Choose one newsworthy event or cultural development from this era to present to the class on Monday, March 10. Type a one page (doublespaced) summary explaining the basics and significance of your selection. Provide at least one visual of your selection. For example, if you choose Shirley Temple, you could use a film clip. If you choose the Lindbergh kidnapping, you could use newspaper articles. If you choose Swing, you could demonstrate and teach the class a basic move.
Note: Reading assignments are to be completed before the next class on the schedule. For example, Mondays reading is to be finished by Wednesday. Any other assignments are also due by the following class, unless otherwise noted.
