Dear Brown School Families and Friends, As we turn the calendar to a new month it is a good time to send out some reminders that will help the rest of the year go smoothly. The first reminder is about the start of the school day. Students should not arrive at school before 8:30 a.m. There is no supervision on the playground until 8:30. Also, students should arrive before 9:00 a.m. as that is when our day begins and that is also the time that the front door is locked. Any student arriving after that time will need to ring the bell and have their parent sign them in. The second reminder is about change of dismissal plans. Please let us know about any change in your childs dismissal plan early in the day. You can use a Change of Dismissal Plan form, send us a note, email (make sure it goes to the classroom teacher, Mrs. Perkins and myself) or in emergency situations you can call us. All phone calls regarding dismissal changes need to be as early as possible. Calls coming in at the end of the day make it very difficult to contact the classroom teacher and the child. My last reminder is about contact information. It is of the utmost importance that we have your current contact information as well as contact information for your emergency contact people. If your child is sick or for some reason is not picked up at the end of the day we need to be able to contact you. We will make every attempt to reach you, and then your emergency contact people. If we can not reach you after those attempts our only other alternative is to enlist the help of the South Portland Police Department to help us contact you. So, please help us avoid that drastic step by keeping us informed whenever your contact information changes. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
