Synthesis of nano materials (2 days 6 hr) Processes for producing ultrafine powders- Bottom up and top down approaches, mechanical grinding, wet chemical synthesis of nanomaterials, magnetic sputtering. Gas phase synthesis of nano materials, gas condensation processes, chemical vapour condensation, laser ablation, biological synthesis, quantification and storage of nano particles. Characterization (1 day- 3hr) Step-wise advancement for characterization, Sample preparation, X-ray diffraction-wide angle and small angle, Electron Microscopy Techniques: Scanning Electron Microscopy, Transmission Electron Microscopy, Scanning Tunneling Microscopy, Atomic Force Microscopy, Scanning Probe MicroscopyFluorescence. Applications (1 day- 3hr)
