Facilitation Guide
In using technology, access to reliable technology is important, as well as both instructor and student expertise (Stone Wiske & Beatty, 2009). As the facilitator, you need to be well versed in how the simulator works and present to the students a confident demonstration. Therefore, ensure you have had sufficient practice in the simulator and that you have run through the example scenario, so that you may share your thought process Review radio-telephony practices with students and ensure they are confident in their previous knowledge regarding aircraft and flight rules. Have them use the static displays and whiteboard, to practice while waiting for their turn in the simulator. While in the simulator, coaching and mentoring are the processes you will want to use. Only offer assistance when required. They have had plenty of time in the simulator by now and should be fairly confident in their skills. Sit back and watch.
