26March,2014 Welcome to the second edition of the 2014 P&F newsletter. The school year is in full swing, with a successfulWelcomeBBQandagreatStPatricksDayand Catholic Schools Week celebration, combined with a revealing Shave for a Cure. Lots more events are happening either side of the Easter break, with opportunities for parents and friends to join in and supportschoolactivities. Hotshotz Portrait Raffle Many thanks to Matt from Hotshotz, our school photographer. Congratulations to the winner of our first fundraising event for 2014, with Jordan Jakimovskis family taking home the prize. The raffle raised approximately$450. School Disco Coming up this Friday evening, 28 March. Dont forget to RSVP. Tickets $5 (including popper and chips) sold at the door. Helpers are needed for each session (infants 6 7:15pm; primary kids 7:309pm), so please put your name downontheRSVPformifyoucanhelpout. Easter Raffle We are requesting donations for the traditional Easter Raffle. To be drawn on Wednesday 9 April, we are seeking Easter themed items (eggs, bunnies and bilbies, soft toys, Easter books, baskets etc.) to build five major hampersandlotsofminorprizes. Tickets are being sent out this week please send back tickets and donations to the School by the Tuesday prior to the raffle draw. We also need volunteers on the morningofWednesday9Apriltowraphampersetc. Fundraising focus Already the School and P&F have ticked off some of the items on the wish list developed from last years fundraising survey. At the next P&F meeting we hope to gettheoktoreleasemoremoneyforotherpriorityitems such as IT equipment and maintaining the bottom playground turf. Keep your eye out for the Agenda and haveyoursayatthemeeting. We will keep you updated on where the moneys raised fromtheeventsaregoing. P&F activities: we have some great events on our calendar for 2014. We will send flyers out before each eventwithfulldetailsbutherearesomeoftheupcoming eventswearehopingtocoverthisyear.

Raffle Donations: if you have a small business (eg. party plan, lawn mowing, catering etc) or work for a company thatwouldliketocontributetoanyofourrafflesitwould begreatlyappreciatedbythewholeschool. Helpers: we are keen for you to get involved and have some fun. Helpers are always needed for each event. If you can assist with any event please email the P&F with yourdetailsandwhicheventyouwouldliketohelpwith. We would love to get a small crew of people to form a Mothers Day fundraising team. Your contribution could range from gift ideas, keeping an eye out for bargains or itemswhichcanbeupcycled,coffeeandcraftsessions, donatinggifts,wrappingorhelpingoutatthestall.Letus know how you can help via the usual method, drop off ideas or samples at the office and look out for further updates! Newcastle Perm fundraiser St Pats has now signed up for this fundraiser: any new loan over $100k taken out the Perm will result in a $600 contributiontotheSchool. Youonlyneedtomentionthe Schools name when signing up. Open to anyone, so mention this to relatives, work colleagues and friends whomightbeconsideringaloanwiththePerm! Canteen Gluten Free foods Unfortunately a number of GF lines sourced from our suppliers are no longer available. However we have gluten free fish portions (double the size of a yummy drummy) for $1.60 and rice sticks (60c). We can also get gluten free chicken nuggets in, if there is any interest. If you know of any GF products the canteen might stock, pleaseletusknow! Next P&F meeting Wed 9 April, 6:30pm Recurrentitemsvote:atthenextmeetingwewilllookat all the funds that the P&F contribute to support P&F and schoolactivitiesonaregularbasis,withtheaimofvoting on all of these items.
