Kai Poster Analysis and Evaluation-Q2, then green/7

1a) In my opinion, I think I have used many of the 8 rules in my poster. First of all, I think I have used a consistency when choosing the colour of my poster, they were quite bright colours such as red, white and light brown, this was intended to catch the attention of passers-by so they perhaps would lead the poster and acknowledge its message. I have also not written a lot on the poster but the words I have written have been written in bold and contrasting with the background so the words will stand out. I have also only used one or two fonts in my drafts.

1b) During the creation of this poster, I have learned how to soften the edges of pictures to make them blend in more. This is mostly demonstrated in my second draft. Ive also learned how the harness the power of colour saturation, this is demonstrated mainly in my first draft as I used it to make the background of the laptop in my first draft to brown, so it was not noticeable.

In this picture, the girl is slightly stretched, although this is true I have used the contrast with the brown and white and Ive also matched the girls dress with the laptop. This is the same as the IPhone and the colour of the writing.

In this picture, I have matched up the colour of the girls top with the writing Shes in trouble and Ive also lined all of my words, like the first one. In this one Ive also used the colour softener tool to smoothen out the edges of the picture. In my opinion this is a better picture than the first.

If you can effectively break the 8 rules, it makes a good a poster as it creates another effect to make the poster stand out. It can potentially create confusion as the passers-by observing the poster; this could be from anything like a subtle few words over an illustration to a deliberate choice of bad contrast, making it more likely that the public would want to see the thing the poster is advertising.
