Intro Frank Lloyd Wright was born on June 8, 1868 in Richland Center WI.

His mother was a former schoolteacher and his father was a Musician and speaker. They both raised Frank along with tree other daughters together until 1885, when financial worries made it difficult for the Wrights to stay married. Shortly after Frank graduated from the University of Wisconsin-madison, he began working as a chief assistant for a famous architect named Louis Sullivan. After working for Louis Sullivan, he established his own company where he designed buildings all around the US, including Marin County. Vision Frank Lloyd Wright had an extraordinary vision of the design for the Marin Civic Center. He wanted his design to be organic, bizarre, yet went well with the Marin County landscape. Franks favorite aspect of Marin was the astonishing golden, rolling hills, which stretch throughout the County. So, he implemented these hills into the buildings, and put long large domes to appear like them. He clearly succeeded at blending all the elements of Marin and implementing them into one of his last creations.

Geometry everywhere! For every building Frank has ever designed, he used a simple shape such as a circle or square and used it as the theme for the building. For example: the theme for his all time most famous design falling water is the square, and the Marin Civic Centers theme is the circle. Circles populate this wonderful structure in the courtyard, balconies, and roofs. The Civic center has two wings, which have two tunnels, which are parallel to one another. An interesting segment of design in the civic center I am fond of is the rails on each floor. To visitors, they appear to be copies or cut outs of each other, which I find quite interesting. Dimensions The civic center has tree stories, and a 580ft administration building. It consists of a four-story 880ft long hall of justice, at a lower elevation. The wings on each side of the building form an obtuse angle and the rotunda in the center has a diameter of 80ft. the whole area of the structure is 82 acres. Conclusion Frank Lloyd Wright was an astonishingly creative man who has designed over 1,000 buildings. He has created wonderful buildings our

world can use forever. He is famous for designing buildings, which stick out, yet do not clash with the surrounding landscape. He has inspired thousands to follow in his footsteps and become architects just like him.
