About the Course In automotive design, aesthetics and ergonomics also play an important role as does the engineering. This course prepares the students to appreciate these aspects and incorporate them in the development of automotive systems, sub-assemblies and components. The course is designed to provide a balanced exposure to engineering as well as aesthetics and ergonomics. Emphasis is placed on creative and imaginative approach to automotive product design and development, with equal consideration of engineering and manufacturing aspects.

These projects prepare the students to handle real life problems. In the final project individual students use analytical approach to problem solving, whereas in the group project they get an opportunity to work as a team not only to solve a problem or develop an automotive system but also to implement it in a working prototype.
