T- Shirt Design Project Part 1

Essential Question: How can the t-shirt be a form of self expression or social change ?
T-Shirts are a great symbol of style and individuality. It easier now than any time in the past to have one of your original designs put on a shirt, using new technologies. We will be creating designs with Gimp or Photoshop, using the skills we have developed. We will also develop our critical thinking skills by critiquing, describing, and reflecting on our own work, as well as the work of others in the community. There are many t-shirt design communities online for artists to get their t-shirts printed. We will participate in one called Threadless.com. Assignments T- Shirt Description. Look at the different designs on Threadless.com. Choose one design and print it out. Describe the t-shirt design in detail, answering the following: 1. T-Shirt Design Title___________________________ 2. Who is the artist? ____________________________ 3. Describe the design visually, images, colors, composition, where it is placed on the shirt, etc. 4. How did the artist use some of the Elements and Principles of Design in their art? 5. What message do you think the artist is trying to send? 6. Why did you choose this design to describe? 7. How do you think the design could be improved?
