O The students of Residential School

survived a very hard experience. O Most students were taken from their homes without the consent of their parents O What they experienced during their time at these schools created several generations of people effected by this devastation to First Nations communities.

Creating art in their honor.

O Many First Nations artists have created

artwork that tackles the issue of what impact the schools had on First Nations people.
O Their art work has taken many forms. O Many artists try to capture the silver

lining in the situation by focusing on something positive

Project Care
O Project Care creates a tile with a specific survivor

in mind.

You will each design a 4x4 tile similar to the ones you see here, But the design is totally up to you.

How can we show honor?

O Here are pictures of some tiles that were

created by students just like all of you.

Now we will make our own art project!

O Each student will receive one ceramic tile.

O Your will design a sketch of what you want

you tile to look like. O Your tile will be painted in a design that honors those students of Residential School. O The design is up to you but it must be focused on those students who attended the schools. O These tiles will then go on display as an act of honoring the students and keeping their memory alive.

Now is your turn to honor the students of Residential School

O First you will receive a piece of paper and

on the paper you will decorate a design.

O You can decorate it in any way you want. O Remember that this is about honoring

those students of Residential School.
