2014 AUGUST

Welcome
ART IS NOT WHAT YOU SEE, BUT WHAT YOU MAKE OTHERS SEE.
~ EDGAR DEGAS
Hello Parents! I am Ms. Meghan Wilder, your childs
elementary art teacher! This year we will be focusing on
two main themes for our art room to create our work
around! These two themes will be chosen and voted on by
the students by the end of the first week. Throughout the
year we will work with paint, clay, pastels, and mixed
media; so please send your kids with some old clothes to
keep in the room! Also, I like to integrate other subjects in
with art to help them learn the basics of every subject. I
look forward to getting to know your child and creating
some fun, interesting things with them!

Calendar!
When teaching I believe assessment is everything, I like doing
differently things so every student can be able to understand
things because everyone learns differently. I like the idea of the
on-going journals and having small critiques, check points,
and presentations of their works. When introducing a new
project I will had the students a rubric to use themselves to
make sure they are hitting every key point that is needed to
receive an A. I will also go over the different ways that we will
be assessing these projects throughout the duration of the
project so they will know what to expect and when to expect it
Feel free to contact me with any issues. Meghan Wilder at 419-555-9870 ext. 234
