Reflective Analysis of Portfolio Artifact Rationale/Reflection NAEYC Standard:

STANDARD 7. EARLY CHILDHOOD FIELD EXPERIENCES Field experiences and clinical practice are planned and sequenced so that candidates develop the knowledge, skills and professional dispositions necessary to promote the development and learning of young children across the entire developmental period of early childhood-in at least two of the three early childhood age groups (birth-age 3, 3 through 5, 5 through 8 years) and in a variety of settings that offer early education (early school grades, child care centers and homes, Head Start programs).

Brief Description of Evidence:

I compiled a resume of previous jobs that I have had. These jobs all vary in responsibilities and program differences. I have had experience in many different areas of education such as, a head start program, a preschool, in the public schools, and in a licensed and accredited child development center.

Analysis of What I Learned:

Through the completion of this resume, I have learned that there are many differences in early childhood education programs. This has shown me many things that I like in classrooms, and many things that I would not want in my classroom. I have also been able to see how these programs operate and deal with families.

How This Artifact Demonstrates my Competence on the NAEYC Standard:

Compiling this resume has helped me see the many places I have worked that have made me the educator that I am. I am able to take bits and pieces from each job I have had, and apply them to where I am working now. This allows me serve my families in ways that will make them most successful.
