Chairpersons Speech-Public Speaking-Prepared Speech A very good morning to our panel of adjudicators, teachers, all the contestants and ladies and gentlemen. This morning, we will be witnessing the Jempol District Public Speaking competition for the year 2014. For your information, this is a yearly event held for secondary schools. The first round will be the Prepared Speech. Each contestant has six minutes to talk on the topic he or she has chosen. The first bell will be rung at the fifth minute. The second bell will be rung two times at the sixth minute. The next round will be the Impromptu Speech. Each contestant is given 4 minutes to prepare for a certain topic given by the chief judge. Then, each contestant will speak for three minutes. The first bell will be rung at the second minute, followed by the second bell which will be rung two times at the third minute. The winner of this Public Speaking Competition will be representing Jempol District at the state level English Carnival in May. Before we begin, allow me to introduce our three adjudicators for today. Ladies and gentlemen, this ends the first round of the Public Speaking competition for secondary schools in the Jempol District. We have all thoroughly enjoyed the speeches. After a while we will witness the second round. I humbly request that everyone be patient while waiting for the impromptu part.

Well, ladies and gentlemen, the public speaking competition has come to an end. The results will be announced during the closing ceremony. With that ends the Choral Speaking Competition for secondary schools in the Jempol District. On behalf of the English Panel of SMK Palong 2 I would like to thank the panel of adjudicators and the time keepers and everyone who made this event a success.
