Amazing facts: the Pyramids of Giza are the largest Egyptian structures

The pyramids of Giza are the three largest pyramids of all ancient Egypt.
The pyramids of Giza were built to protect an Egyptian king/ pharaoh. The pharaoh was burred in or underneath the pyramid. The jjm was lled with gold and other precious objects. The largest one was built for King Khufu ( coo- of). The second one was built for the King Khafre ( Calf ray). The last one was built for King Mendaure (Men call ray). These structures were very large, they had square bases and four smoothed out sides. Now they look like bricks, but when they built them they smoothed out the sides. The rst inspiring pyramid was built by King Zoser (Zuse er). It was called the step pyramid. Most archaeologists believe that the pyramids had a religious meaning. Thats why they had the slopped sides. On the top of all the pyramids was a gold coating. The pyramids were always on the side where the sun set. The golden tip would catch the light of the sun set. The religious meaning of the slopping sides was to represent the at going to the sky. Egyptians believed that the spirit would climb up to be with their gods.
