I love music and I can truly say that it has impacted my life. Throughout my elementary school years I remember listening to younger artist like Aaliyah, Monica, and Chris Brown. Of course

Chris Brown

when you hit about 5th grade and you are getting ready to go to middle school you start to hit that awkward moment of puberty. These artists helped me through those awkward moments. Chris Brown was my boy crush and I would imagine a guy

singing and dancing to and with me. Aaliyah brought my more girly side out because of her smooth beats and cute style. Monica brought more of that love and romance out. I learned all about relationships with her. In middle school Lady Gaga had became really popular as well as Bruno Mars. I believe they were my most influential because of their upbeat but fun and playful music. In the beginning of high school I

was more toward Beyonce and Neyo. Beyonce has this spark and she

always knew how to sing about what girls went through especially in this time of my life where I needed as much guidance as possible. Neyo always gave me that calm, smooth love song that just made you imagine that there is that perfect guy somewhere. In the ending of my high school year I turned more towards Toby Mack, Natalie Grant, and Lecrae. I went to a Christian school

Corinne and they were very influential and I started to love that comfort in God Bailey Rae and really enjoyed that praiseful and rhythmic music. It gave me hope and a lot of faith in
God and I started to really find out who I really was. Now my music is just a mixture depending on how I feel. I listen to Rihanna, Beyonce, Juicy J, Amigos, Bruno Mars, Corinne Bailey Rae, Jhene Aiko, Kirk Franklin, and still some of the other artist that I listened to earlier. I love all types of music and I love to mix it up and try to expose myself to all types. I

believe I am so versatile now because I have grown up with many different genres and have learned to really open up to

music. Music is so experimental and can have many effects on you no matter how you take it.
