Review and Present Problem: review prior knowledge needed to solve the problem. Sometimes problem solving can be difficult because it is based on personal experiences. Devise a Strategy: students will come up with a strategy to solve the problem. Be careful with how much guidance you give. Students need to try and figure it out themselves. Implement the Strategy: provide scaffolding.(guided questions) Discuss and evaluate results: eliminate

misconceptions. Discuss what the students came up with and evaluate them.

Assessments should be based on the lesson. Assessments should be based on performance based on a preset criteria. Systematic observation can be done. This is specific criteria that is given to the students and is assessed based in a rubric.

The model increases motivation due to an increase in curiosity, challenge, authentic task, involvement, and autonomy.
