4th Quarter AKS/Common Core


Here are some important dates for May:
Math Add up to four two-digit numbers using strategies based on place value and properties of operations. Use mental math strategies to add and subtract 10 or 100 to a given number between 100-900. Solve word problems involving dollar bills, quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies, using $ and symbols appropriately (e.g., if you have 2 dimes and 3 pennies, how many cents do you have?). Recognize and draw shapes having specified attributes, such as a given number of angles or a given number of equal faces and identify triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons, and cubes. Science Energy (Light and Heat) Force and Motion Environmental Changes Social Studies Human Rights Personal Finance Language Arts Write friendly letters Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage when writing or speaking. Read a variety of literature including poems, non-fiction, and drama Content topics (from social studies, science, math, health, and the arts )

Spring Has Sprung!! With the nice weather everyone is getting antsy. Please remind your children of your expectations for their behavior, and work. As their skills have grown, so have our expectations. This is a time to finish strong.
