Whats Going On In Kindergarten?

January Newsletter

We are working on the following ELA Skills: compare stories by naming what is the same
and different about two stories; identify and compare beginning, middle and ending
sounds in words; blend sounds together to read words; and read high-frequency
words. Mathematic Skills: describe three-dimensional shapes by telling the number of
sides and corners (cone, sphere, cube, rectangular prism, cylinder and pyramid); put
shapes together to make new shapes (circles, triangles, squares and rectangle); and
create and solve addition problems. We will be attending Computers, Art, P.E. and
Library throughout the week.
This weeks homework will be focused on Addition Games. In addition, your child must read
(read to) for at least 10 minutes each night and record the title of the story read as
well as their responses to the prompt on the Reading Log.
