Our Monthly Newsletter

December 2015

We continue to work on the following ELA Skills: asking questions using does, do, is and
are; retelling story with details; identifying characters in the story; sequencing events
in the story; naming the letters of the alphabet; sounding out letter sounds and
blending sounds together to read words; and reading high-frequency words.
Mathematic Skills: rote counting; skip counting by 2s, 5s and 10s; identifying odd
and even numbers.
We will be attending Computers, Art, P.E. and Library throughout the week.
This weeks homework will be focused on your child practicing writing their first name,
counting up from different starting points and writing numbers 0-20. In addition, your
child must read (read to) for at least 10 minutes each night and record the title of the
story read as well as their responses to the prompt on the Reading Log.
