Whats Going On In Kindergarten?

Our Weekly Newsletter

October 19, 2015

We continue to work on the following ELA Skills: asking questions using what, who, where,
why, when and how; answering questions using details (colors, shapes, sizes);
identifying characters in the story; sequencing events in the story; sounding out letter
sounds; naming the letters of the alphabet; and reading high-frequency words.
Mathematic Skills: identifying and comparing one-dimensional shapes and solid figures like
cone, sphere, cubes, rectangular prism, cylinder and pyramid.
We will be attending Computers, Art, P.E. and Library throughout the week.
This weeks homework will be focused on your child practicing writing their first name,
counting up from different starting points and writing numbers 0-10. In addition, your
child must read (read to) for at least 10 minutes each night and record the title of the story
read as well as their responses to the prompt on the Reading Log.
