Dear Mr.

Andrews,
Abstract art is the sense of beauty to my eyes. Trying to discover your own interpretation
of a visual can change several times. As an individual, I define myself as abstract art. My name is
Dejah Hayes and I am a freshman enjoying my second semester of college. I am here on a trac
scholarship and to get an education of course. I set short and long term goals for myself to
accomplish all the time. My vision is to be successful and also happy with life. I continue to
surround myself by positive people as they help me stay optimistic. I believe I don!t go a day
with out laughing or smiling. I love having good conversations and helping others in any way
possible. It is usual to see me dancing at random times when caught off guard. Dance is my
passion. I loo up to my family because they are my number one support system.
As the new year came, I decided to eep a journal. I write in it when I have a lot on my
mind or when I just want to write down what I am thining. It helps to clear my mind for the
most part. I never thought I was a well rounded writer or reader. I only lie to write when I am in
my feelings or using my imagination to mae up a story. I only read when I find a dramatic novel
that interests me. I always wanted to be a really good reader. I picture myself in a par laying on
a blanet reading a boo on a beautiful day all the time, but it never happens. "oos are
e#pensive too, but that is not m e#cuse for not reading them. The problem may be because I am
la$y at times and don!t tae the time to find a well suited boo to read. It usually just depends on
the mood I am in.
Through the great vine I heard that this course would be fun with you as a teacher. I
e#pect the class to be enjoyable. The two boos assigned for this course seem fun to analy$e. I
use to have a fear of writing papers. I con%uered my fear last year. &o with that being said, I am
good to go with writing long papers. I am curious to find out everything I am going to learn. I
hope to engage with every student in the class and discover our assignments to be pretty easy
going.
'&ometimes instead of climbing over barricades, you!ve got to wal through
them.()"ono
I selected this %uote because it seems to tal about patience and understanding the true
problem. *verything is not going to be picture perfect to where you now what your ne#t move
is. Tae the time to figure out who the real enemy is and challenge yourself. Multiple paths will
come our way. It!s our decision to choose a different direction and simply wal around. Don!t
always tae short cuts to get things done when it is as simple as completing an assignment.
Having this %uote on the syllabus represents doing your wor and not trying to give the teacher
the run around about why you didn!t do it. +hen you turn in your wor on time you have
nothing to worry about.
Sincerely, Dejah Hayes
