7. Constitutional government in the United States has changed over time as a result of
amendments to the US Constitution, Supreme Court decisions, legislation, and informal
practices.
14. Law and public policy are created and implemented by three branches of government; each
functions with its own set of powers and responsibilities.
15. The political process creates a dynamic interaction among the three branches of
government in addressing current issues.

Objectives (What will the successful learner be able to do at the end of the lesson?)
SWBAT: recall basic information about the lawmaking process
SWBAT: present their bills to the class and attempt to persuade students to vote for
their bill.

Materials/Resources (What will be used to communicate understanding to the pupils?)
Writing Utensil
Students will need to bring back their bill creation packet
Bill to Law quiz
Projector
AppleTV
Teacher iPad
Whiteboard/markers
Cell Phone/Laptop/BYOD
PollEverywhere

Instructional Procedures (What motivating activities, techniques, and methods will be
followed? What extension activity might be included?) Include time allocation for each activity.
Upon student entry, teacher will take attendance and instruct students to use that time to
review their notes.
Students will have about 5 Minutes to review by themselves while everyone gets
settled.
Teacher will ask students if they have any questions and clarify any misconceptions that
were stated on the student notecards from yesterday.
Teacher will then instruct everyone to put their materials away and then pass out the
quiz. 10 Minutes.
Once all the students are done, students may get back into their groups to wrap up their
bills. 5 Minutes.
Start Presentation of student bills and voting (using PollEverywhere). 20 Minutes.
