have enjoyed being

the president of
our chapter and
know that Patsy and
the new board will
continue to make
this a chapter that
not only does fun
activities but also
one that does so
much for our com-
munities.
I hope
you all have a
happy and ex-
citing summer.
I cant wait to
here all about
your activities,
travels and summer
surprises when we get
back together in the
fall. Sincerely,
Susie
The April installa-
tion and initiation
dinner was well at-
tended. We were
able to give two
$750 scholarships.
We initiated two
new members, Ilene
Gonzales and
Shirley OCain. I
know that you will
all make them feel
very welcomed and
will help them be-
come familiar with
our members and
our activities during
the coming year.
We installed our
new board. Patsy
Williams is our new
president, Jill
Cyhaniuk, 1st vice
president, Dena
People, 2
nd
vice
president, Mercury
Simonian, our
treasurer, Sharon
Pedersen, recording
secretary and Peggy
Costales is our cor-
responding secre-
tary.
I know that
you all will give
them your support
and will be willing to
volunteer when they
need your help. It
takes all of us to
make this a suc-
cessful chapter. I
have really appreci-
ated all of your
help and support
these past two
years. When I
needed help, many
of you quickly an-
swered my call. I

Alison Jablonski lost her mother in April. It is always
so hard to lose a parent and our prayers go out to
her.
Alison also had a happy occasion in May when her
daughter was married in Hawaii.
Congratulations, Alison.

President Susie Leinbach called the meeting to order at 4:40 PM in the home of
Susie Leinbach.
February minutes were published in the March newsletter. It was noted that there
was the word it that should be deleted after the words Under old business and
the correct spelling of a prospective new members name is Shirley OCain instead of Shirley
Okane. Peggy Costales moved to accept the minutes as corrected. Susan Lingenfelter seconded. Corrected minutes were
unanimously approved. The Treasurers Report is published in the March newsletter.
Under old business, Susie Leinbach received a communication from Louise Mast that we had put together and delivered 45
Jared Boxes to CHOC. The staff at the hospital were very appreciative. In addition, Mercury Simonian has receipts from
the WINGS shelter from various donations we have made. Susie thanked Dixie Olson for her help with the lids and boxes.
We are still looking for someone to fill the office of 2
nd
Vice President or to share duties as Co-2
nd
Vice President with De-
na Peoples. There was discussion of possibly having the 1
st
Vice President take over the Birthday Celebration Dinner and
rearranging of committee members to help with continuing to maintain the programs offered by the Chapter.
Under new business, Esther announced that we have two candidates for the scholarship and one candidate for the grant-in-
aid in the process of turning in their applications. She stated that the Scholarship Committee will be meeting soon to ap-
prove the applications. Fran Karman requested members to send pictures to her for the website.
Meeting adjourned at 5:30 by Susie Leinbach.
Minutes Submitted by Sharon Pedersen.
