FSU Student ------ ------ to Present Senior Soprano Recital
Frostburg State University student ----- ------- will present her senior soprano recital,
accompanied by pianist Dr. ---- ------, on Sunday, April 27, at 3 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of
FSUs Performing Arts Center. The recital is free and open to the public.
------ will begin the recital with selections from Erich Wolfgang Korngolds Songs of the
Clown, Op.29, including Come Away Death, O Mistress Mine, Adieu, Good Man Devil and
Hey Robin. The song cycle was composed for Max Reinhardts 1941 production,
Shakespeares Women, Clowns and Songs, and features texts from William Shakespeares
Twelfth Night. The recital will also feature Ridente la calma and Un moto di gioia by
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Liebst du um Schnheit and Ihr Bildnis by Clara Schumann,
Widmung by Robert Schumann and Si mes vers avaient des ailes by Reynaldo Hahnn. ------
will close the recital with Ive Got a Crush on You, Someone to Watch Over Me and But Not
for Me by George Gershwin.
------ studies voice at FSU with Dr. Steven Soebbing. She is a member of the Delta
Omicron Music Fraternity, the FSU Chamber Choir and Jazz Choir. A 2010 graduate of
Allegany High School, ------ expects to graduate with a bachelors degree in general music
studies with a concentration in voice. She is the daughter of ---- and ----- ------ of Cumberland
Md. ------ plans to pursue a career as a Kindermusik teacher.
