<Strawberry Juice

In early spring. Iroquois Indians celebrated the Maple Sap


Ceremony. At this time. the maple sap began to rise in the trees.
The Iroquois thanked the Creator for giving them the sweet sap.
In J une. strawberries began to ripen. The Iroquois held their yearly
Strawberry Ceremony. giving thanks to
the Creator for strawberries. The
Iroquois recipe below combines the
traditional ingredients of strawberries and
maple syrup to make a sweet drink.

2 cups(500 mL) slicedstrawberries(freshor frozen)
3'1.cups(925 mL) water
'f,cup (175 mL) pure maplesyrup

blender or food processor
6 servingglasses
'JOhat YOIl do:
1. Measure and place all ingredients in a blender or
food processor.
Z. Blend until ingredients are smooth.
3. Carefully pour juice into glasses and serve.
