Item Comment Action
1. Opening Remarks. The Secretary, Khilang Samaj UK opened the meeting by
welcoming everyone to the 5th Annual General Meeting
(AGM). The Chairman then highlighted the importance of the
AGM and stressed that any issues discussed and agreed this
year will not change until the next AGM.


2. Points from last
meeting.
Update on outstanding points from the last meeting are as
follows:

Computer/Internet installation Put on hold for the
moment.
Expansion of the school ground. This was nice to have
and has been taken off the agenda for now.
Electricity Again this has been taken off the agenda.


3. School Update. The Chairman provided the following updates:

School (Shree Sthanapati Ni Ma Vi)
Total students 127 (no change). Year 8 9 students,
Year 7 12 Students and Year 6 13 students.

Teachers 7 including Nursery (2 x teachers salaries paid
from Golden Jubilee Fund (NCR 17K/9K p/m).

School building project
9 Classrooms altogether.
Furniture 10 sets from ACAP.
10 sets of furniture donated by Mr Khem Gurung (Rani
Pauwa, Pokhara).
Becci Nani Library Books and librarian support provided.
Dr Hom Gurung recently provided books to the school.
Drinking water for children 3 x taps provided (sponsored
by Mr Keshbahadur Gurung).

For information, to-date NCR 7,25,200 have been sent for the
school.

Current Issues:
Electricity. 1 x Computer has been donated by Dhala ko
maila bhai (Suk). Unfortunately, there is no electricity.
Classrooms. Those without transparent roofs get dark
easily.
Maintenance Fund. It has been decided not have a
maintenance fund at present. However, in order to initiate
some funds, tombola or some other initiatives are options
for helping with any repair work required.

5. Health Post Update. Medical Centre. Although the target date for completion
was Paush 15, BS 2071, the construction work of the
Medical Centre in Khilang is far from over. It is currently
behind schedule but is anticipated to be ready by Ashad.
A total of 1,990 has been raised from UK members with a
few donating personally in Nepal. So far the total amount
has reached NCR 6,34,805. All members are thanked for
their generosity.


6. Welfare Update.

The Chairman informed the meeting that HQBG have now
moved from Upavon to RMAS, Camberley. The Welfare
Officers will be working two days at the Sandhurst Office and
the other days at the Citizen Advice Bureau, Aldershot.

7. Khilange Ama Samuha
UK.
A total of 650 was handed over to the Ama Samuha, money
donated by the grooms family during the Chairman daughters
(Mrs Astha Gurung) wedding. The money will be kept in the
central fund. This donation is purely on a voluntary basis and
is not to be regarded as a stepping stone for future collections.

8. Bhet-ghat Karyakram
2014.
Date: 19 Jul 14.
Venue: Tamu Dhee UK Bhawan commencing at 1200 hrs.

Future dates (2015 onwards). In future it is planned to hold
the party in first week of August.

Charges/Costing for annual bhela.
Membership subscription. Annual membership (100).
This will also pay towards the annual gathering. Note:
This years subscription is to be paid to the Treasurer by 1
Jul 14. Senior citizens who are not in receipt of any
government benefits and currently unemployed are exempt
from paying. Those in receipt but are single will only pay
50% i.e. 50.
Cheli-beti and family. Free.
Bhanja-Bhanji/Individual guests:
Adult - 14.
Children 6-12 years - 8.
Children below 5 years - Free.
Drinks. Initial free drinks (Adults 3 Soft Drinks or 2 Beer.
Children 2 x Soft Drinks) will be free of charge (coupons
will be provided).
Tickets/Coupons. Will be issued at the entrance.
Guests. Chairmen of Sikles/Parche and Tang Ting Samaj
will be invited to the party as in the previous year.
Raffles draw prizes. The following have agreed to
donate prizes towards the raffle draw:

o Mr Chandrabahadur Gurung
o Capt Tik Gurung

Any volunteers, please inform the undersigned.
Videography. There will be no videographer this year.
Entertainment. Suman has kindly volunteered to take the
lead.

Item Comment Action
Programme Hosts. Volunteers are welcome. The aim is
to slowly task the youth to takeover the running of the
programme. This system will allow them to improve their
confidence and to take ownership in future years.
Achievements for felicitation programme. All members
are requested to inform the Chairman/Secretary of any
achievements (academic, promotion, births, marriages
etc). Felicitation in future will be for degree upwards
only.
