The Distributive property

The Distributive property is when you distribute the number out side of
the parenthesis to the two numbers of a number and a variable, then
you multiply the numbers. And then add, or subtract.

The Associative Property

Multiplication: The property that states that when multiplying three or more
real numbers, the product is always the same regardless of their grouping

Addition: The Associative property say that it doesn't matter how you
group the numbers

The Commutative Property of addition/multiplication

Addition: This property means that addends can be added in any order and
the sum is always the same.

Multiplication: This property means that factors can be multiplied in any
order and the product is always the same.

II. You use the distribute property for this problem
Distribute the 4 to 7x and the 3
4(7x-3) + 2

4(7x-3) +2x 28x + 12 + 2x 30x + 12

Then you have to combine like terms and you add the two numbers that
have the variables.

III. For this problem you need to combine the like terms which are 7x
and 9x. Then subtract them and you would get 2x 10 = -13

7x 10 9x = -13 2x 10 =-13

Then you need to need to add 10 to -13 and you end up with a one step
equation.

2x = -3 X=-6

IV.

V. 2 x
---
-5
First you need to you need to multiply the 2 and -5 and then you can
graph it on the number line and when you graph -10 one the line you
need to put and arrow going toward the left. -10 x

VI. -4x + 4 -8
First you need to subtract 4 from -8 and then it is a one step equation
-4x -12 x 3

VII. Open and closed circles are used to mark the end points of
intervals. If the circle is open, it means the end point is NOT included in
the interval, but if the circle is closed, it means the end point is included.
