Assignment: Observe a kindergarten teacher reading to his or her class (Identify the ways in which the
teacher focuses on vocabulary to enhance comprehension).

Observing children in early childhood stage is very important to know about children and their
behaviors, and development. An early childhood teacher should know how to observe, document, and
assess in order to help young children and their families; for example, it helps child by knowing his
development stage and then put an appropriate strategies to encourage him to develop. Moreover, this
process informs family about their childrens progress. In addition, this assignment contain ways that
help teacher in domain of the language to learn ways to enhance, understanding and increase
vocabulary for children .The assessment tool was used is observation.
Before taking this course , I did not know that childs observation in any particular domain is
useful and give that much of information about a child. Because I observe children through story time
and I could record some children behaviors which tells me about their personalities ,for example, some
children are shy and quit and dont participate ,others are the opposite and keep reading with the
teacher ,and some get bored faster which let them to make noise . On the other hand, I learned some
methods and strategies that will help me as a teacher to perform a perfect story time .

I learned there are many types of assessment tools to examine children and each tool is different from
another , for example, checklist, interviews, besides observation. So I decided to use
Later in course of experience 2 I used these tools to monitor and observe a child in the social domain
for a month and I get a good results. As well as in the future . As well as in the future assessment tools
will help me in assessing levels of students and develop plans and programs appropriate for them.
