RESIDENTIAL RAIN GARDENS Date: Fri.

June 13th 9 AM - 3 PM
A practical train-the-trainer course for neighborhood activists,
volunteers, and homeowners. Rain gardens are designed and built
to accept stormwater runoff from surfaces including rooftops, roads
and compacted soils. Rain gardens are used to reduce the impact of
stormwater on local waterways and the Long Island Sound. They also
help create a balanced, healthy ecosystem while adding beauty to
your landscape.

Lunch and morning refreshments will be provided. Please register for this
free class, by Friday June 6th, online at
http://www.nhsofnewhaven.org/NHS/lab/classes-and-workshops
or by calling (203) 562-0598 ext. 26. The class will be held in the Home
Improvement and Energy Conservation Lab (Building #3), located on
our campus at 333 Sherman Avenue, New Haven and involves hands-
on digging and planting, so please dress appropriately.
