I Have Given You Life

Hello there and welcome to Six Minutes. Do you know, Im still reading Harry Emerson
Fosdick and hes so good. He tells a story here. He says, One of the ablest women in
the country, herself a university graduate and the wife of a university president, was
brought up in poverty. She never saw the inside of a schoolroom until she was 14 years
old. Listen to this, She recalls on one occasion when as a girl, she complained of her
hardships and her mother, who was of pioneer stock, turned on her, See here, said the
mother, I have given you life, that is about all Ill be ever able to give youlife. Now
stop complaining and do something with it.

Do you know, thats all our parents can give us, is life. I always say mothers are very
special because she gave me life. What are you doing with it?

Now sit and spend a few minutes and ask yourself, Am I developing myself as well as I
could? Do I have a good, organized study program? Do I realize Ive got depths of
talent locked up within me? That my spiritual DNA is perfect and its always wanting to
express itself in a greater way? Am I giving everything Ive got to this gift of life? Spend
four or five minutes thinking of that. Its very important. Thank you.
