Designed by world-renowned architects, Pei Cobb Freed and Partners, CEIBS is mainland
China's first business school to have its own campus. The school's architectural beauty
combines Western architecture with the subtlety of Chinese beauty and grace. Using
"Suzhou tiles" to band and lattice the school's windows, it creates a unique identity for
the 5 hectare site in Pudong. The school's facilities are connected with an arcade
walkway that encloses the main garden, often referred to as the bamboo forest.
The school's facilities are impressive, comfortable, and technologically advanced and are
second to none in mainland China. Earlier this year, the school celebrated the
completion of its Phase II development of the main campus. This expansion increased
the size of the campus to a total floor area of approximately 40,000m2.
Campus:
Academic Centres
There are three Academic Centres that house a total of 12 lecture theatres, 26
discussion rooms, 6 lecture rooms, and 52 faculty/administration offices. Technology
permeates the school with network connections in virtually all the rooms from the
cafeteria to the auditorium, allowing students to have an easily accessible high-speed
connection to the school's information network and databases.
Library
Seating over 300 people, the school's auditorium, with its impressive technology allows
for simultaneous translation of its political and business events, making it a desirable
location for major business events.
Dormitory
Completed in Phase II, the gymnasium offers an appealing two-level, airconditioned
facility. Offering a broad range of fitness equipment, the gymnasium accommodates
both novice to experienced athletes with steppers, treadmills, stationary bicycles, and
weight training equipment. Table tennis and basketball courts are also available at the
gymnasium.
Gymnasium
The school's four dormitories provide a comfortable residence for 470 students living on
campus. Every dormitory is equipped with a telephone, computer network connections,
satellite TV hookup, and a private bathroom. Visiting faculty can enjoy CEIBS' new
faculty residence that was completed in Phase II.
Student Life:
Class Profile
CEIBS boasts of its top quality students in Asian Pacific Region. It also has the most
diversified student body (31.4% international students in 2007 intake) among mainland
China's business schools, which created a unique multi-cultural learning environment.
Diversity among the student body is a foundation for the CEIBS experience -- both inside
and outside of the classroom. At CEIBS, we encourage candidates from all over the
world to apply thus making CEIBS experience truly international. The exposure and
interaction in a cross-cultural environment will greatly broaden students' horizon and
enhance mutual understanding and tolerance, which becomes increasingly important in a
globalizing business world.
Student Life
In CEIBS, we believe that learning extends beyond academic study to all activities
outside the classroom. The after-class interaction with your peer students, participation in
clubs and involvement in campus-wide events ranging from purely social to strictly
professional all contribute to enrich your learning experience at CEIBS.
Clubs
Student-organised club activities are a vital part of campus life and an important
extension of the classroom. Student clubs vary from social to athletic to professional.
Participation in such activities also offers leadership opportunities and managerial
experience. Currently there are 31 student clubs.
