WEDNESDAY NIGHT TRAINING

The shared training night has been a massive hit
with players, coaches and families alike. It has
been fantastic for the younger teams to get the
opportunity to train alongside the more
experienced teams and also allows the older
players to support and encourage those newer
to the game.

The club is hoping that training can continue on
a Wednesday night for the rest of the season.

Making sausages available to purchase on the
night has been very successful and we are
happy to announce that following our cheese
toasty trials they are here to stay. Our coffee
machine is back, just in time for those cooler winter training sessions. So now
you can also enjoy a hot chocolate, latte or even a cappuccino while supporting
your team.

Coaches Update

Many thanks to our Registrar, Dave Collins and our Groundsman, Felix Horton
for taking up the mantle of coaching our U9s team.

We are unable to field an U10s team this year so our new look structure is as
follows:

Kym Hermann coaching the U8s (Team Manager: TBA)
Dave Collins & Felix Horton coaching the U9s (Team Manager: Jodie McLean)
James Perfect coaching the U12s (Team Manager: Lee-Anne Paterson)
Troy Snooks coaching the U14s (Team Manager: TBA)
Will Hannaford coaching the U14Gs (Team Manager: Cate Edwards)

Preliminary Cup Round Update

There were thrills and spills aplenty
during the AHJSA preliminary cup round
at Woodside last Saturday.

Woodside U12s moved on to the next
round with a dramatic victory over
Sterling District. Following a very even
match, Woodside eventually won 3-2 in a
nail biting penalty shoot-out.

Also going through into the next round
are the U16s who had a convincing 11-0
win against Strathalbyn.

Our seniors team put up a good fight
against Division 2 Christian Brothers
College but our Division 5 team came up
short, losing 7-0.

Canteen Helpers
We would love to see more parents, grandparents and friends getting involved
with helping to run our club - and one of the easiest places to start is in the
canteen. Funds from the canteen go directly back into improving our club and its
facilities and we would love to see the canteen become the hub of the club. We
are currently looking for people to help out for an hour while the canteen is open
both on training night and while games are being played. If you feel you can
help or if you would like more information about what is involved then either
speak to someone in the canteen on Wednesdays (we dont bite well, at least
not very often) or send Linda, our Canteen Manger, an email at
lindacrossing@yahoo.com.au

PLEASE NOTE: If you want to play this season then registration
needs to be completed and fees paid before the beginning of the
AHJSA League Round 1 which is on Saturday May 3
rd
2014.
