Heat exhaustion is overexposure to hot and humid conditions. It occurs as a result of being
physically active in a hot environment without taking the right precautions. What happens is
that fluid loss reduces the amount of water in the body so that the blood volume falls.
Increasing blood flow to the skin makes the blood volume even less effective, reducing
blood flow to vital organs. As the circulatory system is affected, the body goes into a mild
form of shock.
