RUBATO It is an Italian command which gives the performer the liberty of slight speeding up or holding back of the
tempo for dramatic effect.
EXOTICISM It is the use of native folklore materials on their composition.

PETER ILYICH TCHAIKOVSKY He was a Russian composer composed Romeo and Juliet
TEMPO musical element was expanded during the Romantic Period
PITCH It is the highness or lowness of a sound
TEMPO It is the speed of a pulse
DYNAMICS It is a musical element that have the loudness and softness of a sound.

ARTS
Classicism refers to the art forms produced in antiquity or inspired by it afterward

Neoclassicism always refers to the art forms inspired by ancient times, but created later.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

1. Heat Exhaustion – a heat-related sickness that can happen due to exposure


to high temperature after accompanied by dehydration.
2 types
a. Water depletion
Symptoms: excessive thirst, weakness, headache, loss of consciousness
b. Salt depletion
Symptoms: nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, pale skin, profuse sweating
and rapid heartbeat
Treatment:
 Get out of the heat
 Go to an air condition room
 Drink plenty of fluids except coffee and alcohol
 Remove tight clothing
 Take a cool shower
 Apply cooling measures

2. Spasm or cramps – involuntary contractions of muscles that may occur simultaneously


in different parts of the body
Prevention/Treatment
 Stretch or massage the muscle
 Do warm up before any physical activity
 Change activities to fit one’s ability
 Ensure proper water and mineral intake

3. Dislocation – happens when the ends of the bones are


forced from their normal positions due to physical trauma such as contact sports
or vehicular accidents
Symptoms: deformation in the limb extremity, skin discoloration, pain and loss
of movement.
Treatment:
 Visit the hospital or schedule a doctor’s appointment
 In the worst case scenario, the doctor may perform surgery to fix
dislocated limb or extremity.
4. Tendonitis – the irritation of a tendon (tissue attaching muscle to bone)
injuries like Achilles tendonitis found at the junction of the calf and the heel
and tennis elbow (tendonitis in the outside tendon of elbow)
Symptoms: pain, tenderness and swelling at the affective limb.
Treatment:
 Apply ice on the area and take pain relievers
 Seek physical therapy for additional recommendation

5. Patellofemoral pain syndrome (PPS) – characterized by pain in front


of knee when in use and occasional knee buckling due to a lack of
support.
Symptoms: misaligned, damaged or injuries kneecaps
Treatment:
 Avoid activities or positions with bent knees such as kneeling,
riding a bike, or doing squats that may inflict further damage
 Put ice on the area, rest and seek physical therapy for additional
recommendation.

HEALTH
FIRST AID is an immediate and temporary care given to a person who suddenly gets ill or injured
Ask the victim: “Hey, hey are you okay?” while carefully shaking the victim’s shoulder, the proper way to check
for the consciousness of a victim
R.I.C.E. stands for Rest. Ice. Compress. Elevate
Roles of First Aid
1. It is a bridge that fills the gap between the victim and the physician
2. It is not intended to compete with or to take the place of the services of the physician
3. It ends when the services of the physician begin.

to prolong life
to prevent further injury
Principles of First Aid
(Dos in Giving First Aid)
1. Do stay calm.
2. Do reassure and comfort the victim
3. Do check for a medical bracelet indicating a condition
4. Do loosen any tight clothing
5. Do keep the victim covered to reduce shock
(Don’ts in Giving First Aid)
1. Don’t give food and drink to an unconscious person
2. Don’t move an injured person unless you need to place him/her in the recovery position.

4. Tactful
5. Sympathetic
