Formative Assessment Sheet

Unit Number: 231 Unit Title: Recorded Music Performance
Candidate Name: Rebecca Reardon Date: 16
th
July 2013

Distinction Merit Pass Fail
Grade awarded
Justification for grade awarded:
You sing well and have chosen songs that suit your voice. The recordings show competent
musical skills and you perform with mainly good intonation and clear diction. The backing
vocals for Hold the Line feel a little overpowering in places though.

Targets for improvement:
1.1 Please explain how you prepare for performances. Simply say it as it is and explain
exactly how you learn songs.
1.2 Can you include more detail about the resources you need to make a recording. There
are lots of different types of microphones and you need to be more specific. Plus the H&S
checklist needs to be more comprehensive.
1.4 The evaluation lacks detail and does not use the RSL grading criteria. This can be easily
rectified by using the RSLs wording in the conclusion section of the evaluation form.
