Formative Assessment Sheet

Unit Number: 231 Unit Title: Recorded Music Performance
Candidate Name: Katrin Evans Date: 15
th
July 2013

Distinction Merit Pass Fail
Grade awarded *
Justification for grade awarded:
The recordings are enjoyable to listen to and your performances demonstrate your good music
skills. You sing well with accurate intonation and clear diction and have chosen songs that suit
your voice and display your versatility as a singer. A well deserved merit grade subject to you
carrying out the refinements below, although if you give the same attention to the written
elements of the unit you could possibly achieve a distinction.
Targets for improvement:
1.1 The rationale needs more detail explaining how you prepared for the recording process.
However remember that this should be written in the future tense, as you are explaining how
you WILL prepare for the recordings, not what you did do.

1.2 You need to include the list of equipment you used in the recording studio including makes
and models. Plus you need to explain how you will record your work. Finally for this section
whilst you have identified some of the risks involved with working in this environment it
needs to be presented in a more logical fashion.

1.4 There is a specific form that needs to be completed for this section of the unit. Please can
you re-do this using the correct form that supports you to give far more consideration to each
section. Also remember to use the exam boards wording for the conclusion section.
