A Trip to Raja Ampat

My trip to Raja Ampat is very memorable. It is located in the northwest of the birds
head peninsula, West Papua. I went to Raja Ampat with my co-worker in February 2014. The
trip first started with half an hour flight from Manokwari to Sorong and then we took a boat trip
from Sorong to Waisai, which is the capital city of Raja Ampat Regency. Our first day in Raja
Ampat was astounding because I got a homestay that was located very close to the sea. I
remember that the view from my homestay was astonishing because I could see the white sand
beach and I could hear the sound of the waves just by sitting on the terrace. The second day
was even more interesting because we went snorkeling in 3 different spots. I was thrilled by the
beauty and the diversity of the coral reefs. Furthermore, I was stunned by the appearance of
reef sharks in such shallow waters. The next days, we went to Pianemo Island and it took just an
hour by speedboat. After we arrived in Pianemo Island, we had to hike on rocky uplands to get
the best view. But it paid off with breathtaking scenery from the top. My trip to this hidden
paradise is unforgettable because it was the first time I had seen such amazing landscapes and
beautiful coral reefs.
