Dubbing or subtitling movies: Pros and Cons

The purpose of my paper is to identify a large positive effect for subtitled original version of the
movies, as opposed to dubbed ones, has on the acquisition of a foreign language, in this case
English. I also want to show through which of the two methods the information can be best
transferred and what are the aesthetic advantages and disadvantages of the two major types of
audiovisual translation.
