Reflection

The artifact I utilized to demonstrate standard 6.3 was a field experience log. It shows
two of the many field experiences I engaged in during my two years of study. One of the core
values of the Instructional Technology program concerns facilitating meaningful and engaging
learning experiences for our candidates that will enhance their ability to incorporate the National
Educational Technology Standards (NETS) into all aspects of their professional practice (KSU,
2014). These practices provided me the knowledge and capability to improve P-12 student
learning. This particular field experience log demonstrates my ability to create a technology
workshop and deliver professional development through coaching.
During this masters program, we were offered many opportunities to engage in field
experiences to synthesize and apply the content and professional knowledge, skills, and
dispositions identified in these standards. As you can ascertain throughout the six standards
located above, I have participated in at least 28 circumstances permitting these practices. As I
will come out of this program with a degree preparing me to become a coach, all these
experiences will offer me a foundation.
All the field experiences provided worthwhile learning to prepare me for integrating
technology within my lessons. It also supports me in delivering professional development or
coaching others to do the same. I now have the professional knowledge, skills, and dispositions
to synthesize and apply the content for others. I wish though that I would have had more
opportunities to engage in hands on experiences with all the grades, not just third.
