1. Determine the velocity and shear stress distributions for the tangential steady
laminar flow of an incompressible fluid between two vertical coaxial cylinders,
the outer one of which is rotating with an angular velocity
0
. Two coaxial
cylinders of radii R and kR respectively.

2. Derive Stefan-Maxwell equations.

3. Flow along a flat plate that contains a species A slightly soluble in the fluid B. the
concentration at the plate surface would be C
A0
, the solubility of A in B, and the
concentration of A far from the plate would be C
A
. A react with B by an n
th
order
homogeneous chemical reaction, with rate constant K'n. Analyze the system by a
boundary layer method.

4. A liquid is in steady laminar flow over an inclined plane surface. The free liquid
surface is at temperature T
0
and solid surface at T
w
. The film thickness is . The
viscosity and thermal conductivity of the liquid are constant. Develop an
expression temperature distribution in the liquid.

5. Develop an expression for temperature distribution as a function of T(y, t) for
heating of a finite slab.

6. Discuss the time smoothing equations of change for an incompressible fluid.

7. Write the expressions for macroscopic mass, momentum and mechanical energy
balance equations.

8. An incompressible fluid flows turbulently in a circular tube of cross-sectional area
S
1
, which empties into a larger tube of cross sectional area S
2
. Use the
macroscopic balances to get an expression for the pressure change between
entrance and exist places and for the frictions loss associated with the sudden
expansion.
