Branding for the domain doesnt match In the Glebe used on social media.
Solution: InTheGlebe.com is taken, ShopInTheGlebe.com is available
Facebook and Twitter is well-used and the communities are active. However, there is no use of
Google+ or YouTube which are important for Search Engine Optimization.
Solution: Establish Google+ and YouTube accounts. Publicize and promote them (especially
Google+).
Infrequent blog posting. Posts in 4 out of 12 months in 2013. Content is already being
created. For example, The Glebe Rail Jam in February was covered
on Facebook but theres no corresponding blog post.
Solution: Blog post once per week profiling a member. Have social media sharing buttons on
blog posts.

Glebe BIA brand.
2. Creation and development of new social
media channels, YouTube and Google+.
3. More active blog posting and content
creation.
4. Capitalize on opportunities to promote and
coordinate with members through social
media.
My name is Ian Beck-MacNeil. I grew up in Old Ottawa
South, went to Glebe Collegiate, and have a BA and an
MBA from Carleton University.

I am an elected Director of Old Ottawa South
Community Association and I am the Chairman of the
Program Committee.

I have professional experience in business to business
sales, and digital marketing and communications.

I am passionate about building communities through
digital engagement.
