grade students for their help - Present driving question -Brainstorm list of adults who help us at school - Pairs of students conduct a Summer Interview form and present to class - Form groups and discuss teamwork rubric
-Discuss friendly letter with KWL chart -Discuss letter writing rubric -Show Symbaloo resource Discuss group roles -Ask groups to find the 5 parts of friendly letter - Groups work: - Letter writing quizlet - BrainPop Jr video - Explore at least 1 of the letter writing web sites - Write a friendly letter to one of the class groups
-Introduce video interview by reviewing the kindergarten teacher video -Discuss types of questions to ask -Introduce 5 Ws as a framework for questions -Group work: - Each group writes a letter to one adult helper requesting interview - Watch 2 video interviews (Symbaloo) - Brainstorm interview questions, whole group share - Self-evaluation on teamwork rubric
