InTASC Standard:

Standard #9: Professional Learning and Ethical Practice
The teacher engages in ongoing professional learning and uses evidence to continually
evaluate his/her practice, particularly the effects of his/her choices and actions on
others (learners, families, other professionals, and the community), and adapts practice
to meet the needs of each learner. (InTasc, 2011)

Brief Description of Evidence:
As part of my EDUC 210 Planning Elementary Education Classroom class,
during the Spring 2014 Semester, I worked collaboratively with a partner to create a
lesson plan for AppleTree Daycare in Muncie, Indiana. The lesson plan included
dialogue that could be used within each section and fit that lesson plan to primarily
kindergarten age group.
Analysis of What I Learned:
I learned to constantly evaluate and revaluate each component of the lesson plan
before the implementation and afterwards. I learned how to adapt a lesson plan to
different age groups and different circumstances.
How This Artifact Demonstrates my Competence on the InTASC Standard:
This demonstrates my competence in this InTASC Standard area because I
submitted evidence of creating and implementing a lesson plan with another person and
adapted my experience to fit each situation that I faced. I collaborated with my partner
to prepare for the lesson implementation, while it was being implemented, and then
reflected on what and how we could have changed it. During the lesson, we adapted
the lesson plan to include all students learning types. We modeled a positive attitude
and behavior throughout the lesson.
