WHAT I CAN DO FOR YOU:

– I believe in making every effort to involve the members of the society in what is being
actually done by PakSoc. Ideas pooled in by diverse sources including undergraduates,
postgraduates and the Pakistani residents of the city would help in achieving success a
single person can never achieve.

– Focus on greater media coverage on PakSoc. I will aim to invite prominent figures and
leaders at speaker events arranged by PakSoc. I am already in negotiations with the
Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi who is likely to come to Oxford in
February.

– Ensure that regular cultural and social events are held and continue the promotion of
popular PakSoc events such as the Eid-Milan Party and the Annual Mushaira. I will aim to
increase the number of events held during and after term-time and promote newer ideas
for events such as Qawali, paintballing, punting, picnics and day-long trips.

– Initiate an Alumni Outreach Programme so get PakSoc Alumni more involved with the
society and help lend their talents to the society in any way they find suitable. I will aim to
organise a formal Alumni Dinner every year in London/Oxford to ensure that Alumni do
have a role in shaping the society.

– I will aim to look for permanent sponsorships for Paksoc and other options to increase
funding for the society. Hold a profit-based food event once a term would also help gain
funds for the society.

WHY YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR ME:

Served PakSoc in executive committee positions (Secretary and Vice-President) for over two
years.
I have considerable experience in dealing with PakSoc affairs. I am perhaps the only person in
PakSoc who can claim that I have attended and helped organise every PakSoc event held
during term-time in the last three years.
Played an instrumental role in organising major popular events over the past few years such as
the eid events, mushairas and speaker events such as Lord Nazir Ahmed, Dr. Yunus Samad,
Salman Sheikh and Imran Khan.
I have very good relations with other societies (especially South-Asian societies) such as OIS
