Living by Faith: Noah (Hebrews 11:7)

I. The basis of Noahs faith being divinely warned ...
A. God commanded him about what he needed to do.
B. There was other substance and evidence (Heb 11:1).
1. early stories of Adam & Eve, Cain & Abel and others
2. the name of his grandfather (when he dies it will come)
C. Noah was warned about things not seen.
Faith require a stretching of our souls.

II. The attitude of Noahs faith moved with godly fear.
A. Noahs fear was directed toward God.
B. He was: holy, powerful, wise, just, merciful & longsuffering.

III. The actions of Noahs faith prepared an ark
A. It wasnt raining when Noah built the ark.
Faith is a persuasion or conviction that something is true.
B. Other actions (besides his prolonged faith):
1. He lived by faith before he was asked to build the ark.
2. All other things God commanded were done by faith.
3. He was a preacher of righteousness (2 Pet 2:5).

IV. The results of Noahs faith:
A. Physical salvation for the saving of his household.
B. A godly example he condemned the world.
Our right actions stand as a witness and judgment against those who do
wrong.
C. Spiritual salvation he.... became heir of the righteousness which is according to
faith. Gen 15:6; Rom 10:1-3, 9-10.
2 kinds of righteousness: sourced in self or in God

V. We are living in Noahs days Matthew 24:37.
A. We must be prepared for what God promised is coming.
B. We must speak of the judgment that is coming. The world will be destroyed by fire
(2 Pet 3:10-12).
